About Perfect Lawn Guide
Hi there! I’m Carl and I love my lawn. I created Perfect Lawn Guide as a way to share my thoughts about lawn care over many years of experience with growing and maintaining lawns including my own.
Having never owned a lawn of my own to take care of before, I purchased a home about 5 years ago and inherited a nice big lawn.
There was a problem though, the grass looked terrible. Bare patches, thin grass, weeds flourishing and a hopeless new homeowner with a lawn care problem.
Then I started researching as well as experimenting on the lawn. I developed an annual lawn care plan that has proven to work and now I have a thick, healthy northern lawn. My lawn has come a long way and so have I. Mowing every week (sometimes twice!) is kind of a zen-like experience for me. I now have a huge sense of pride in my lawn and what makes it even better is when I look over at my neighbor’s lawns.
With a few simple rules to follow, you can also have an amazing lawn. The best part is that I don’t spend much money at all growing and maintaining my lawn and I’d love to share how I do it with you.
In not a lot of time, I’ve learned more than I ever thought possible about lawn care. I run through 4 lawnmowers and 2 lawn tractors so far (yes, I’m obsessed). I’ve also tried all types of string trimmers, edgers, spreaders, lawn aerators, dethatchers and power rakes and more. In terms of fertilizers, I’ve tried them all from organic to non-organic and I know what works and what’s garbage. When I get a new hobby, I go all out!
From overseeding to fertilizing and mowing, I cover it all. I also help you save money by recommending the right tools to take care of your lawn with no nonsense reviews. Additionally, I go over the techniques and all the tips and tricks the pros use so you can save money by not hiring a lawn company and have the pride of knowing that you did it yourself.
